Leica Motor M

The Leica Motor M can be set to an image frequency of 1.5 or 3 images per second. Not only does it run extremely quietly, but together with the camera it also forms a very compact unit. As usual, the shutter is released using the camera's shutter release button, which now allows the exact subject detail to be retained even during continuous shooting. The Leica Motor M is mounted on the camera instead of the base cover. The ergonomically shaped handle holds two 3V, type 123 A lithium batteries, the capacity of which is sufficient for at least 100 films of 36 exposures each (at 20° C). It is only 18.5 mm high and weighs 225 g without batteries. It cannot be used with lenses with a viewfinder attachment.
